Seems that Wal-Mart will be selling the Apple iPhone and they are available as from today at the same price give or take $2. All the stories about low cost variants are all bogus.
A report says that the phone will be available at all the 2,500 Wal-Mart stores this Sunday.
In response Best Buy is offerin a huge $10 discount of the list price bringing the 8Gb unit to only $189.99.
RIM released numbers yesterday, including sales volumes. A report from Canalys and mentioned in the Telegraph shows RIM with 15% market share, Apple with 17% and Nokia with 18% of smart phone sales Q3 2008.
These equate to RIM sales of 6.1 m units compared to 6.9 m iPhones.
Crazy scenes as Apple opens it’s first store in Germany. The opening is mobbed by a deluge of Apple obsessed fans. Until this weekend Germans had little chance of witnessing the Apple experience first hand and had to either visit London or one of the small time dealers.
