500 millionApple now say that over 500 million applications have been downloaded from the iTines store.  And there are over 15,000 different apps on the store. Of course a large portion are free and the other range from 99 cents to a few dollars. Apple keeps 30% of revenue. This could be a major source of revenue as the store continues to expand and users become more famillar in paying for apps. Compared to the popular handheld DS machine, where games cost $30-$50 the iTouch offers a low cost gaming platform.

The bun fight in SF last week produced a great many yawns as Apple showed new versions of iLife and iWork. Both versions look like beneficial upgrades. And the one more thing was the 17″ Mac Book Pro now looks like the 15″ just a little bigger. And iTunes music is now free of DRM and will be offered a different price points.

Hardly worth the price of the ticket.
