One has to ask who will spend 1000 Euros for an unlocked unit when for roughly the same price (399 + 24 months of service at 50 Euros per month) well allright more like 1600 Euros you get the service as well. If you used the phone for two years on the Vodafone network your total cost would be more like 2,250 Euros. (1,000 + 24 *50)
Or get an unlocked unit from E Bay.
